Heriot-Watt University is a unique Scottish university with a history dating back to 1821 known to be the Edinburg School of Arts, became the Watt Institute and the Edinburgh School of Arts in 1852, later in 1966 it was given a Royal Charter when the university moved to Riccarton in the West of Edinburgh with its present name.

Edinburgh campus is the Universities main campus which occupies 380 acres of meadow and woodland, approximately 9000 staff and students are based on this campus, which is warm and friendly.
The campus has around 1,600 residential self-catering accommodation places available in 12 halls of residence, 300 of which are in our brand new student residences development, so you can fully enjoy your student life on campus.
The campus boasts several several facilities, including student residences, a purpose-built postgraduate centre, shops, several library collections, childcare, healthcare, a chaplaincy, a variety of recreational and sports facilities, and a museum.
Scottish Border campus is all new refurbished campus and the campus boasts well established integrated learning facilities, computer suites, spacious studios, specialized workshops, a library and a gallery, the Scottish Border campus is located in the town of Galashiels, the Scottish Borders Campus provides courses from our School of Textiles and Design and the School of Management and Languages.

Heriot-Watt's campus in Stromness, Orkney is home to the International Centre for Island Technology (ICIT) established in 1989, part of the University's Institute of Petroleum Engineering. ICIT, based in Stromness, Orkney is part of the Institute of Petroleum Engineering at Heriot-Watt University. It provides advanced research, MSc and PhD training in renewable energy and marine energy systems.
The Campus provides education to a small number of postgraduate students and is host to eight members of research staff, campus has no halls of residence or University leased flats, but Orkney Student Support Adviser is happy to help you find private accommodation locally.

Edinburgh campus the main university site offers 1,600 catered and self catered residential places available in 12 halls on the campus, the Scottish Border campus boasts a all newly refurbished on-campus student village, there are no halls of residence at the Orkeny Campus Yet but the Universities help services are there to help the students find a suitable roof .
The Dubai campus is the first in-itself overseas university site and offers the students with excellent world class on-campus accommodation, along with safety and security on beautiful lush-green campus.
